We found that the feeding of microbivores increases microbial necromass formation (analyzed by amino sugars). <i>Acrobeloides</i> sp. addition increased bacterial necromass accumulation by 3–9% through feeding mainly on Proteobacteria. <i>Aphelenchoides</i> sp. addition increased fungal necromass accumulation by 4–14% through feeding mainly on Ascomycota. A 25% wetter rain season decreased bacterial necromass accumulation by disrupting the feeding of <i>Acrobeloides</i> sp. on Proteobacteria. Rain season delayed for two months decreased fungal necromass accumulation by disrupting the feeding of <i>Aphelenchoides </i>sp. on Ascomycota. The functional traits of soil fauna, like feeding habits, directly affect the formation of microbial necromass under rainfall changes.
