In order to document the biological effects of a specific Lactobacilli-based probiotic and its derived postbiotic, while considering the potential effect of the diet composition, we performed an experiment under commercial conditions on groups of broilers with different diet x additive combinations. Diet composition [standard and challenge (NSP-rich diet)] was previously found to affect the effects of these probiotic and postbiotic on broiler growth performance, bone health and strength and blood biochemical parameters (Jansseune et al., 2024). In the present study, we investigated whether diet composition would also affect the Pro and Post effects on a series of immune parameters and the microbiota composition, with subsequent effects on the metabolome.
