The use of gnd metabarcoding to examine Escherichia population structure in samples from contrasting landuse.

Here we examined Escherichia populations from water, soil, sediment, periphyton/biofilm and opportunistic fecal samples collected from five pairs of sites; one site was in pristine forest and the other sampling site was downstream from sites with pastoral/urban landuse. gnd metabarcoding was used to provide information on Escherichia populations to understand the contrasting fecal sources associated with reserve and impacted sites.
