Site Data from an Archaeological Evaluation at Homestead Farm, Potterspury, Northamptonshire 2014

This collection comprises images and CAD from an archaeological evaluation of land at Homestead Farm, Northamptonshire, In November 2014, carried out by Cotswold Archaeology. The evaluation recorded a complex of Iron Age enclosure and ring ditches in the southern part of the site's western field, plus associated pits, postholes and smaller ditches. A series of substantial, intercutting Iron Age ditches was also present in the northern part of this field. A limited number of minor ditches, none of which contained any artefactual material, was recorded in the site's eastern field. This corresponds with the results of a previous geophysical survey. It is probable that the enclosures and associated features in the southern part of the western field are the remains of an Iron Age settlement. There was no evidence of Roman activity associated with the immediately adjacent Watling Street or the known Roman villa at Bradlem Pond.
