Navy Operations - Anchorage Areas

Buffer of 300yds radius applied to anchorage center points near San Diego Bay. (Primary POC: Tim Latas, Naval Base Coronado, [phone], Secondary POC: Michael Huber, Navy Region Southwest, [phone]) General anchorages, special anchorages, and anchorages for Government vessels have been established in San Diego Bay (33 CFR 110.1 110.90 and 110.210 chapter 2, for limits and regulations) as illustrated on NOAA Harbor Chart 18772, Approaches to San Diego Bay, and NOAA Harbor Chart 18773, San Diego Bay. Data was acquired from the Navy and modified for use in the San Diego Ocean Planning Partnership, a collaborative pilot between the California State Lands Commission and the Port of San Diego. Modification of the original dataset included elimination of features outside the extent of the Ocean Planning effort and/or which were not applicable, reprojecting the data for use in the ocean planning mapping application, updating attribute information, and updating metadata.
