ERA5 daily atmospheric circulation dataset for Europe

This dataset contains daily ERA5 atmospheric circulation fields for the European region, covering the period 1940–2024. The data include sea level pressure (SLP) and geopotential at 850 hPa, 500 hPa, and 200 hPa, extracted for June–August (JJA) only. The spatial domain spans 30°W–40°E and 30°N–70°N, with a horizontal resolution of 0.25° × 0.25°. The original ERA5 geopotential variable is provided in units of m² s⁻². Users should divide the geopotential values by the standard gravitational acceleration (g = 9.80665 m s⁻²) to obtain geopotential height in meters. All variables are provided as daily fields on the native ERA5 grid. The data have been pre-processed to ensure consistent spatial coverage and temporal continuity across the full period. The total data volume is approximately 4.6 GB.
