Endoriftia persephone 'Hot96_1+Hot96_2'. This strain was collected between 9deg N and 13deg N of the East Pacific Rise (EPR) hydrothermal vent system during the HOT-96 cruise. It was harvested from its host, the tube worm Riftia pachyptila. See Genbank records associated with the Markert E, et al. Science paper.
