Sex Events in Germany — Machine-Readable Edition

This record contains the machine-readable edition of the dataset Sex Events in Germany — Open Data Repository. Subject Matter The dataset documents organized sex events and swinger events in Germany, based on publicly accessible event and registration data from the Joyclub platform. It provides event-level quantitative data for 2023 and 2025 and operationalizes these events as structured social settings characterized by specific participation rules, pricing regimes, and gender compositions. Dimensions of the Data The data enable the empirical analysis of: collective sexuality frames in organized leisure contexts, gender ratios (solo women, solo men, couples, accompanied participants), age structures and intra-couple age differences, price differentiation by gender and admission category, pricing ratios (female-to-male and female-to-couple), comment activity and coded reaction patterns, rule communication and dresscode restrictions in event descriptions. The operators of the Joyclub platform have confirmed in writing that the use of the data for scientific purposes, as conducted in this study, complies with their terms and conditions. The ethics officer of FernUniversität in Hagen was informed about the research project; no objections were raised.
