Northern Cod temporal genomics

The study aims to compare the genetic diversity of Northern Cod (Gadus morhua) collections from the 1990s (i.e., 1994-1996) which represent individuals descended from a time before the collapse, with collections from the 2010s (i.e., 2010-2023) which reflect the changes that occurred after the collapse using low coverage whole genome sequencing (lcwgs). Results from this study will help elucidate the impact of overexploitation on the genomic diversity of Northern Cod.
