Faecal microbiota transplantation and faecal microbiota analysis of piglets

Antibiotic use in animal production is a growing concern globally due to the threat of antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, the development of non-antimicrobial techniques that prevent or treat animal disease needs to be explored. one method with proven efficacy in humans is faecal microbiota transplantation. This study aimed to determine whether neonatal antibiotic treatment affects the piglet's faecal microbiome and if so, whether faecal microbiota transplantation can correct it.
