资源简介:
Infrared (IR) observations from the fleet of multi-agencies meteorological geostationary satellites have a great potential to support scientific and operational investigations for high cold cloud studies at a quasi-global scale. Yet such a data record, referred as the GEOring dataset, is far from being homogeneous preventing the realization of its potential.
This dataset provides the regression coefficients to homogenized the infrared data of various geostationary platforms against the Megha-Tropiques/ScaRaB channel-4 measurements from 1 January 2012 to December 2016. By applying the corrections, the homogenized geostationary dataset corresponds to the equivalent spectral response of Megha-Tropiques/ScaRaB-channel-4. It is important to note that this homogenization procedure is adjusted for the cold part of the IR spectrum appropriated for the analysis of high cold cloud, usually identified by applying a 235 K threshold on IR geostationary data.
Seven different geostationary platforms, referred as a GEOring dataset, have been processed:
• MSG/SEVIRI – channel 10.8 µm
• METEOSAT-7/MVIRI – channel 11.5 µm
• MTSAT-2/IM – channel 10.7 µm
• MTSAT-1/IM – channel 10.7 µm
• HIMAWARI-8/AHI – channel 11.2 µm
• GOES-13/IM – channel 10.7 µm
• GOES-15/IM – channel 10.7 µm
Note that there are periodical backups of MTSAT-2 during equinox season, which is then replaced by MTSAT-1. From the 1 June 2015, MTSAT-2 has been replaced by the HIMAWARI-8 platform over the Western-Pacific region.
