资源简介:
This study investigates the effects of self-care priming on prosocial tendencies in an adult population. We examine how evoking self-care thoughts through priming participants with self-care concepts via sentence completion tasks (eg. I know I’m taking care of myself when…) can enhance individuals' prosocial tendencies and helping behaviours.
Participants were randomly assigned to one of two condition groups: the neutrally primed group or the self-care primed group. Prosocial behaviour was then measured using the Prosocialness Scale for Adults (PSA) (Caprara, 2005).
We predict that prosocial tendencies will be noticeably stronger among those subjected to self-care priming than among controls. With possible uses in mental health, education, and community involvement, the research's findings may provide fresh perspectives on the psychological processes relating to self-awareness and social behaviour.
