Horizons of Attention and Extractive Systems Subjective Leakage and the Possibility of Ontological Reconfiguration in Posthuman Digital Environments

Abstract This article examines the possibility of ontological reconfiguration of subjectivity within contemporary digital environments through four interconnected concepts: subjective leakage, dynamic mask, responsible suspension, and reconfiguration. The central argument is that digital lifeworlds no longer sustain the image of the subject as a unified and self-identical entity but rather configure subjectivity as a relatively stable pattern emerging from recurrent cycles of extraction, adaptation, suspension, and reconfiguration. Contemporary technological systems operate not merely as instruments but as extractive structures that transform attention, affect, temporality, and existential capacities into resources susceptible to economic and symbolic valorization. In response, subjects deploy adaptive masks and practices of responsible suspension in order to preserve provisional coherence under conditions of structural instability. Responsibility, therefore, is not grounded in a substantial self but in the capacity to interrupt interpretive processes and act under conditions of uncertainty. Consequently, identity appears neither as a fixed essence nor as an illusion, but as a dynamic and continuously reconfigured pattern generated within the tensions between technological mediation and existential finitude.
