The bite of a tax cap: Replication package

Replication package for “The bite of a tax cap: Incidence and carbon-pricing effects of Brazil’s 2022 ceiling on state electricity taxes” (Peprah, Qu, JI and Darko), submitted to Utilities Policy. The package contains the raw public data from ANEEL (SAMP market data and homologated tariffs), ANP (monthly fuel prices by state) and MCTI (grid emission factors), the processed data, and the Python code that reproduces every table and figure in the paper. Running python 04_py/run_all.py rebuilds all results from the raw files; README.md maps each script to the tables, figures and equations of the paper, and MANIFEST.txt lists the size and SHA-256 checksum of every file.
