This dataset contains individual length data of tagged non-diadromous Galaxiidae populations through time across a flood disturbance gradient in rivers of the Waimakariri and Rakaia catchments, New Zealand. Twelve sites were sampled on four occasions after the 2021 Canterbury flood event (December, January, March, April 2021-2022), which all contained non-diadromous galaxiids and were distributed into one of three trout abundance treatments; absent (n=4), rare (n=4), common (n=4). Site level data includes measures of flood magnitude, ordinal Salmonidae abundance and continuous Galaxiidae density. This dataset was used to test the effect of trout abundance on individual galaxiid growth rates recovering following a major flood event.
