VPRS 12277 Treasury Practice Book

This series consists of a journal which provides summary details of policy and administration decisions authorised by the Department of the Treasurer, as a result of inward correspondence requesting opinions on certain matters relating to public financial administration. The series was maintained as a record of these policy decisions. It covers policy subject matter relating to appointments, issue of licenses, travelling allowances, land tax, refunds for fines etc.The series provides a precis of the correspondence and the resulting policy decision, and provides the correspondence registration number for the correspondence file. These files are maintained in VPRS 1207 Inward Registered Correspondence, Annual Single Number System.An alphabetical subject index occurs at the start of the journal.Summary details of policy decisions from 1874 to 1900 not contained in this series are maintained in VPRS 12273 Accountants Note Book.
