This dataset contains all design files, firmware, and acquisition code associated with the article "Reactivation and Upgrading of a Legacy FFF 3D Printer Using an Open-Source Duet Framework with Integrated Load-Cell Extrusion Force Sensing", submitted to HardwareX. The repository is organized into five top-level folders: mechanical/ — All CAD part files in Solid Edge 2025 (.par/.asm) grouped by subsystem (frame, print head, electronics, motors and pulleys, sliding rail, bed, and extruder), the full system assembly in Solid Edge and STEP formats, dimensioned technical drawings in PDF, and the complete bill of materials (BOM.xlsx). electronics/ — Wiring schematic PDFs covering the Duet Maestro 2 board connections and the load cell HX711 signal conditioning circuit. firmware/ — RepRapFirmware 3 configuration and macro files (.g) for the Duet Maestro 2 board (config.g, bed.g, homing macros) and Arduino sketches (.ino) for load cell data acquisition via HX711, wireless force data transmission via NRF24L01, and sensor calibration. docs/ — Human-readable build, operation, calibration, and future work guides in Markdown format. media/ — Photographs of the assembly process, print head, and finished platform. All originally designed parts are released under the CERN Open Hardware Licence Version 2 ( CERN-OHL-P 2.0). Firmware and software files. Reference geometry files for commercial components are included for assembly reference only.
