Brazilian South-South Cooperation

Despite of descriptive information of ABC's (Brazilian Agency of Cooperation) homepage, nor IPEA (Institute for Aplied Economic Research) or the (ABC) have them in a database format. Therefore, there is no other dataset available about brazilian south-south cooperation similar to this one. These data were collected between august and october of 2013 and were revisited on september, 2014. Only finished projects were used, making it 1.142 projects available. I observed several missing data on: 1) the sector of cooperation (n=5); 2) the partners (34); 3) the information about the countries in the regional bloc (30); 4) the year (1); 5) the countries that sent delegations for training in Br azil (5). So, there is a total of 75 missing data/not available/errors. Afterwards, I did some adjustments to improve the quality of the data. For example, a project to strengthen militaries in Argentine, Paraguay and Uruguay was counted only once originally, but, since there are three beneficiaries countries, in this database, I counted the project three times and I repeated this operation in other similar cases. Then, I ended up with 1.460 projects to analyze. The GNI per capita, whose average was taken from data between 1999 and 2012, was collected from the World Bank Data. Indicators of Voice and Accountability were collected from the Worldwide Governance Indicators, and its average was calculated by (2012+2000)/2.
