资源简介:
Tritrichomonas foetus is a flagellate protozoan parasite of the bovine reproductive tract which causes bovine trichomonosis. The parasite is exclusively transmitted by coitus with asymptomatic T. foetus infected bulls as the only source of infection. Bovine trichomonosis is now uncommon in many parts of the world due to the widespread use of artificial insemination in cattle. Whether T. foetus remains prevalent in pigs in places where bovine trichomonosis has been eradicated remains unknown. Porcine T. foetus was experimentally demonstrated to be capable of producing disease in cows and may therefore pose a theoretical opportunity for the re-introduction of T. foetus into cattle. On the other hand, demonstration ofpresence of a high prevalence of T. foetus in pigs within in the vicinity of T. foetus- free cattle would confirm different isolate-specfic epidemiologies and therefore, a negligible risk of procine T. foeatusfoetus- positive pig to spreading into bovine trichomonosis to cattle. Here we provide the first porcine transcriptome of a newly isolated porcine isolate from faecal samples originating from a pig host raised in a mixed farming system with T. foetus negative cattle.
