SMS catalyzes the final step of spermine synthesis. The G56S variant causes the Snyder-Robinson-syndrome. We investigated the effect of the SMS G56S variant on primary murine bone marrow osteoblasts. We used microarray analysis to detail the global gene expression of primary murine bone marrow osteoblasts isolated from SMS-G56S/0 mice after 10 days of osteogenic differentiation. 4 samples generated from independent experiments were analyzed. The expression of bone-marrow derived osteoblasts at day 10 of osteogenic differentiation derived from Sms-G56S/0 mice was compared to osteoblasts derived from Sms-+/0 wildtype littermates.
