Users can download reports and access a simulation model of the effect of major governmental tax, transfer and health programs on the U.S. population at the individual, family, state and national level. Background The Transfer Income Model, version 3 (TRIM3) is a microsimulation model developed and maintained by the Urban Institute and is funded primarily through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). TRIM3 simulates the effect of major governmental tax, transfer and health programs on the U.S. population at the individual, family, state, and national level. This simulation includes governmental programs such as: Supplemental Security Income (SSI), child care, Tempo rary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), public and subsidized housing, food stamp program, child support, Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP, employer-sponsored health insurance, and taxes. User Functionality Users can calculate frequencies and statistics, download summary reports, and run regression models based upon TRIM3 simulations. Users must register to access TRIM3 simulations. Data can be downloaded in several programs including: ASCII, SAS, SPSS, dBase, and Microsoft Excel. Data Notes TRIM3 is updated annually to reflect changes in tax and transfer programs. Data are available on national and state levels.
