The objective of this research paper is to evaluate the feasibility of using scans collected from various iPad LiDAR applications to connect and register Terrestrial LiDAR Scanner (TLS) scans to one another in indoor and outdoor environments. Information from this paper can give researchers insight into best practices when using mobile LiDAR applications and a better understanding of mobile LiDAR's limitations. This project is unique in that it measured the accuracy of mobile LiDAR data when used to connect TLS scans. Researchers in the Natural Hazards Reconnaissance field as well as people seeking to use LiDAR to create quality 3D images can benefit from the information presented in this research.
