资源简介:
Antibiotics are not only the primary risk factor for the development of C. difficile infection but are also the standard treatment employed to eradicate it. C diff patients treated with vancomycin, the standard therapy, have a high rate of recurrence of infection (~25%), often requiring hospitalization. Ridinilazole is a C diff-targeted antibiotic which has a lower rate of recurrence. This study examined the effect on the intestinal microbiota of a 10 day course of treatment of C diff patients with either vancomycin or ridinilazole, with stool samples collected prior to treatment, after 5 days, at end of treatment, and 15 and 30 days after cessation of antibiotic.
