3alpha,7alpha,24(S)-三羟基-5beta-胆甾-27-醇与NADPH + H+以及O2反应生成3alpha,7alpha,24(S)-三羟基-5beta-胆甾酸酯(3,7,24THCA)、NADP+和H2O。该氧化反应在线粒体基质中进行,由CYP27A1催化。
