资源简介:
This record contains digital photographs collected between 2022 and 2023 for the Windmill Islands long term vegetation monitoring program under the projects AAS_4516 and AAS_4613. This record was prepared by Elka Blackman in December 2024.The Windmill Islands long term vegetation monitoring program has been conducted between 2003-2023 under projects ASAC_1313, AAS_3042, AAS_4046, AAS_4516 and AAS_4613.Quadrat photographs from previous years are presented in separate metadata records: https://data.aad.gov.au/metadata/AAS_4046_QuadratPhotographs https://data.aad.gov.au/metadata/AAS_4046_2014QuadratPhotographs These photographs have been used to assess bryophyte and transitional community vegetation cover/health for the years 2003, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2022 and 2023. Vegetation cover/health data is presented in separate metadata records: https://data.aad.gov.au/metadata/AAS_4046_VegetationCoverData ID: AAS_4516_VegetationCover (metadata ID to be provided here when this is available)Quadrat location data at two sites in the Windmill Islands (ASPA 135 and Robinson Ridge) are provided in metadata ID: AAS_4046_quadrat_locations (doi:10.26179/5eaf9c864c3c7).And shown in two maps which are available via the AADC map catalogue: http://data.aad.gov.au/aadc/mapcat/display_map.cfm?map_id=14450 http://data.aad.gov.au/aadc/mapcat/display_map.cfm?map_id=14451 Baseline survey was described in Metadata:ID: ASAC_1313_Transects_2002-03 (doi:10.4225/15/55B197219CF2D)Five and 10 year surveys described in ASAC_1313_Transects_2007-08 (doi:10.4225/15/55B1D23B3ED0E) and AAS_4046_Transects_2012-13 (doi:10.4225/15/59fbbb909cf71), respectively. Data summary for the Windmill Islands long term vegetation monitoring program (2003-2014) can be found here https://data.aad.gov.au/metadata/AAS_4046_VegetationCoverData as published in DH King, J Wasley, MB Ashcroft, E Ryan-Colton, SA Robinson (2020) Semi-automated analysis of digital photographs for monitoring East Antarctic vegetation, Frontiers in Plant Science (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpls.2020.00766).FILE: AAS_4516_QuadratPhotographs 2022-2023.zip This zip file contains a number of subfolders as follows: YEARS 2022 and 2023SITES ASPA135 and ROBThese contain a subfolder for each quadrat:Key to quadrat labels (all years from 2003 onwards): (e.g. AB1)First character denotes site: A (ASPA 135) and R (Robinson Ridge).Second character denotes vegetation community type: B (Bryophyte), T (Transitional) and L (Lichen) (Where B = greater than 90% bryophyte cover, T = approx. 50% live bryophyte: 50% moribund bryophyte cover, L = greater than 90% lichen cover).Third (and fourth) character/s denotes transect number: 10 transects per site (numbered 1-10).Each quadrat subfolder contains several files:File naming convention:SITE_YEAR_X#Y.JPG Where: SITE = ASPA (ASPA 135) or ROB (Robinson Ridge) YEAR = Year the quadrat photograph was taken (2022 or 2023)X = Community identifier: B = Bryophyte community, T = Transitional community; L = Lichen community# = Transect number (1-10)Y = The photo identifier for that quadrat/year (a, b, c, d etc.)Funding and logistics support to collect these data were provided byAustralian Antarctic Science projects AAS_4516 (Waterman), and AAS_4613 (SAEF)Australian Research Council grants (DP200100223) ARC SRIEAS SR200100005 Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future (SAEF)
