The purpose of this study is to isolate a new strain of Bdellovibrio-and-like organisms (BALOs) from sediment and enrich the germplasm resources of BALOs. The intertidal zone samples were collected from Xiaoshidao and HGD, Weihai. BALOs strains were isolated by using Vibrio alginolyticus LF TCBS 15 as the host through the double-layer agar plate method. Fifteen isolates of subclade I were retrieved from sediment samples by using the method. The morphology of bacterial cells was observed by optical microscope and transmission electron microscope. Cells of the strains were Gram-negative, vibrioid-shaped and motile with a single sheathed flagellum.
