Gene expression profile at single cell level of human laryngeal normal, preneoplastic and tumorigenic states

The mechanisms underlying the progression of vocal cord leukoplakia (VCL) to laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) remain unclear. We characterize the differences in the cellular microenvironment between VCL and LSCC at the single-cell resolution for the first time. In the study, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing on surgical tissues from 30 patients with vocal cord polyps (VCP), vocal cord leukoplakia (VCL) and laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC).
