资源简介:

Rhodes (GR), acquired in 1943 from coll. v. GaertringenMarble, 3rd/2nd century BC The relief, signed by the sculptor Damatrios, formed part of the tomb of Hieronymus of Tlos (mentioned in inscription), a Rhodian philosopher of Aristotle's school. The left part of the frieze represents the deceased as a disputing philosopher, while the right displays a depiction of the afterlife, extremely rare in Greek art.
