Older Adults Text-entry Studies (OATS):
2014-01 Video Session, individual tests and exposure to novel input methods
Summary:
Our goal was to gain some understanding of how older adults react to different types of keyboards on mobiles, which may not be familiar to them. We asked participants to perform copy and image description tasks using the following keyboards
- T9 (12-key)
- 20-key layout
- Swype
Participants were videoed during the tasks and semi-structured interviews followed after each keyboard had been tried out by participants.
