Ice front and Mélange Dynamics at Kangerlussuaq Glacier, eastern Greenland, since 1981, and future stability

This dataset contains measurements of the jam-packed ice mélange (JPM) extent in front of Kangerlussuaq Glacier, eastern Greenland, from 1978 to 2021. The mélange extent was manually delineated from satellite imagery, including Landsat (NDWI and optical) and SAR data (ERS-1/2). It includes measurements of both the JPM and the total mélange length, with a maximum length set at 28.95 km, extending beyond the fjord, typically reached before the calving season begins. The dataset provides satellite platform details in the final column, with missing values indicated by "N/A".
