Number of students in higher education in Turkey 2020/21, by city

In the academic year of 2020/21, the top three cities having the highest number of students enrolled in higher education institutions in Turkey became İstanbul, Ankara, and İzmir. Those cities hosted over 800 thousand, 311 thousand, and 173 thousand students, respectively. On the other hand, Hakkâri became the city with the least number of students in higher education, reaching 2,701.
