The present disclosure relates to a chainsaw 1 comprising a housing 3， a guide bar 5， projecting from the housing 3， and one or more handles 9. The guide bar 5 has a main direction of extension 15 defined by its center-line. The housing comprises an outer shell 3 made of plastic， which has at least a first 23 outer groove filled with a contrasting plastic material， wherein the groove at least partly extends straight in a transverse direction 17 that deviates less than 3 degrees from a direction perpendicular to the main direction 15 of extension of the guide bar 5. This provides an indication that facilitates precise and safe felling of trees.
