Waste cooking oil and waste activated sludge were co-fermented in batch reactors, sulfate was used as extracellular elctron acceptor to enhance the long chain fatty acid (LCFA) metabolism. To reveal the metabilic mechanisms of LCFAs by the mixed culture during the fermentaion process, metagenomic analysis was used.
