Global climate change is causing extreme heating events and intensifying infectious disease outbreaks. Animals harbour diverse microbial communities, which are vital for their physiological performance and infection resistance under stressful conditions. The extent to which host microbiomes change in response to infection or warming may be important for predicting host performance under global change. Here, we conducted laboratory experiments to evaluate alteration of host microbiomes (CeMbio community) by infection and warming, across wild Caenorhabditis elegans isolates spanning temperate and tropical regions. Using 16S rRNA sequencing and meta-barcoding analysis, we characterized host microbiome alterations by parasite infection and warming.
