How much of the Caatinga is legally protected? An analysis of temporal and geographical coverage of protected areas in the Brazilian semiarid region - supplementary files

These are supplementary files to the article "How much of the Caatinga is legally protected? An analysis of temporal and geographical coverage of protected areas in the Brazilian semiarid region", published in Acta Botanica Brasilica (https://dx.doi.org/10.1590/0102-33062020abb0492).<br>We present here <br>1- A high resolution map of Caatinga in PDF format showing the distribution of all nature reserves up to 2018 (Unidades de Conservação according Brazilian law) in the Caatinga ecoregions (sensu Velloso et al 2002);<br>2- A spreadsheet with the list of all protected areas in Caatinga represented in the map;<br>3 and 4- Zip files with the shapefiles of Caatinga Ecoregions (sensu Velloso et al 2002) and Protected Areas within Caatinga, which we used in our analyses.<br><br>5- The results of a Chi-Squared test of the number of PAs with and without management effectiveness by PA type.
