GmBTB/POZ positively regulates soybean resistance to Phytophthora sojae by promoting ubiquitination and degradation of GmbHLH93

Here, we confirm that GmBTB/POZ interacts with the transcription factor GmbHLH93 and mediates its ubiquitination and degradation. GmbHLH93-overexpressing transgenic plants were more susceptible to P. sojae, while GmbHLH93 RNA interference lines had enhanced P. sojae resistance. GmbHLH93 is a nuclear-localized transcription activator that can specifically bind to an E-box motif in the GmDREB1A promoter region and activate GmDREB1A transcription.
