A tenporary Woodland canpsite (5LR1381) was originally recorded in the
1970's. This site included some hearths, one of which was sanpled for pollen and
macrofloral remains for this study. It was noted eroding out of the bank of the
Cache La Poudre River. Woodland occupation is substantiated by recovery of a
projectile point base and pottery, and by a radiocarbon age of 1680 + 70 BP from
charcoal. Pollen and macrofloral analyses were conducted to identify foods
processed in the hearth and ground using the mano.
