This study was carried out during the main cropping season of 2022 at Werer agricultural research center (WARC). WARC is located at 90 12' 8'' to 90 27' 46''n and 400 5' 41'' to 400 15' 21''E at elevation of 740 m above sea level. The mean maximum and minimum temperatures of the area are 19.1°C and 34.3°C, respectively (Alehegn et al., 2019). The study site represents the major sesame production environments in Ethiopia. For this study one hundred genotypes (89 accessions and 11 varieties) collected from EBI (Ethiopian biodiversity institute) and WARC were used. The trial were laid out as 10×10 Simple lattice design. There were four rows per plot and the space between plots is 40cm and the space between plants were 10cm. For the trait measurement, the two middle rows excluding the border raw were used. From these five random plants were taken. Hence, from the two replications, a total of 10 plants were measured for each trait in each genotype.
