Mitigation of chemotherapy-induced gut dysbiosis and diarrhea by supplementation with heat-killed Bacteroides fragilis

Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) is a common condition; however, it is unclear whether this condition results from alterations in microbial composition in humans. This study examined changes in microbial composition among patients with CID and the therapeutic potential of probiotics supplementation. Strict selection criteria were implemented for the selection of patients with cancer and healthy volunteers.
