In the present study, we performed RNAseq of tissues (muscle, gonads, liver and heart) from female and male of S. elongata to analyzed the transcriptomic profiles in different sexes. The goals here were to search for DEGs and to screen for the key genes related to sex differentiation. Furthermore, abundant markers, including SSRs located within coding regions detected in deep coverage sequence region reads, were developed. This study allowed us to further unravel the transcriptome of S. elongata and provided valuable information for studying sex control in teleost fishes.
