Time-resolved amplicon tracking data from four distinct UASB reactors to trace the microbial composition during the granulation of the anaerobic sludge. Four lab-scale UASB reactors were followed over 7 months for the ability to form granular sludge on different substrates. Amplicons were generated from the DNA extracted at diffeent time points from the anaerobic sludges of four lab-scale UAB reactors (R1, R2, R3, R4) treating different substrates (R1 - glucose, R2 - acetate and tryptone, R3 - glucose + tryptone, R4 - glucose + starch) at four-five distinct time points. 20 libraries were sequenced with both bacterial and archaeal 16S rRNA primer sets, generating 40 distinct samples with amplicon data.
