Selected annotations of the Eurasian Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) calls in Xeno-canto recordings from 2023 and 2024

This dataset presents a strongly annotated record for the vocalisations of Eurasian Woodcock in Xeno-canto recordings, where the audio source files can be found and downloaded from the Xeno-canto website (https://xeno-canto.org/species/scolopax-rusticola, accessed on 18.03.2025). The so-called grunts and squeaks (low and high frequency calls, respectively) of the species are annotated. The start times are labelled as timestamps and a segment length of three seconds is considered for the audio. The vocalisation of the birds is not necessarily at the beginning of the audio frame, rather it may start a relatively random position. Clearly, it is ensured that each 3-seconds frame contains at least one call. A total of 97 audio files are annotated. The data is presented in a single file named "eurwoo.csv". The second column in the data represents the Xeno-canto ID of the audio file. A maximum of 12 frames are labelled per row (i.e. columns three to fourteen). If more labels were needed for the same audio, i.e. for long recordings, a new row in csv file is started with the same audio ID.
