IGP in Dikerogammarus villosus gut contents, against IGP in Gammarus zaddachi gut contents

DNA metabarcoding was used to investigate the direct trophic interactions of invasive amphipod Dikerogammarus villosus (Sowinsky, 1984) from 2 UK lakes, compared to the UK native amphipod Gammarus zaddachi (Sexton, 1912) from 1 UK lake. The communities associated with these species were also sampled with eDNA and kick sampling. The aims were: 1) to describe the trophic interactions of these amphipods species to investigate their diet breadth and the levels of intraguild predation (IGP); and 2) to use eDNA and kick samples to describe the community compositions and the prey resources available to the amphipods.
