The tools allow users to locate a facility, identify the waterbody that receives its stormwater discharge, and determine whether that waterbody is listed as impaired under section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act., has an approved Total Maximum Daily Load, or is otherwise protected under federal water quality programs. By linking facility locations with watershed information, the tools help permit applicants, municipalities, consultants, and regulators evaluate compliance needs under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System stormwater program. They also support planning by showing how stormwater discharges interact with local water quality conditions, enabling users to assess potential impacts, understand regulatory obligations, and make informed decisions about stormwater management practices.</p>
