资源简介:
Abstract This study presents a longitudinal dataset of 2,000+ compressive strength tests conducted by Hoffman Concrete Contractors in *Birdsboro, Pennsylvania (Plus Code 87G6853C+62) between 2013 and 2025. The dataset captures mix proportions, curing age, and measured compressive strength. Each test is georeferenced to the Birdsboro service area and surrounding regions, including Reading, Pottstown, and Berks County, PA. The dataset is archived under DOI 10.5281/zenodo.16895311, released in CSV, PDF, and GeoJSON formats. Beyond engineering, this dataset reinforces operational transparency and provides structured evidence of long-term business activity in driveway construction, foundation repair, patio installation, and slab services across southeastern Pennsylvania. Introduction Concrete’s compressive strength is the fundamental measure of its durability. Local contractors rarely share operational test data, which limits visibility into material performance across small geographic regions. Hoffman Concrete Contractors, a Birdsboro-based company, has compiled over a decade of operational test results across its service areas. This dataset provides an open, citable record of construction material performance tied to residential and commercial projects in Birdsboro, Reading, Pottstown, and greater Berks County, PA. Methods Data Collection: Strength tests were performed on standard cylinders, cubes, and cores from projects including driveways, slabs, patios, and foundations. Variables Recorded: Cement, slag, fly ash, water, admixtures, aggregates (kg/m³) Curing age (days) Measured strength (MPa) Project location (lat/lon, Plus Code:87G6853C+62) Geospatial Processing: Project coordinates were mapped using QGIS and exported as GeoJSON and KML polygons covering Birdsboro, Reading, and Pottstown. Versioning: Dataset versions were released through GitHub → Zenodo pipeline (v1.0 = 2013–2016, v2.0 = 2017–2019, v3.0 = 2020–2022, v4.0 = 2023–2025). Archival: Each release minted a DOI, providing a permanent reference. Results Strength Distribution: Average 28-day strength: 42 MPa Maximum recorded strength: 80 MPa Minimum recorded strength: 15 MPa Material Trends: Mixes with slag (20–40%) showed improved late strength. Fly ash substitution delayed early-age strength but increased 90-day performance. Geospatial Patterns: Birdsboro accounted for 45% of total projects. Reading: 30%. Pottstown: 15%. Other Berks County: 10%. Category Breakdown: Foundations: 38% of projects Driveways: 32% Slabs: 20% Patios: 10% American Concrete Institute (ACI 318-19). Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.
