Ernst Filsinger Collection

Ernst B. Filsinger was a prosperous St. Louis businessman best known as the husband of St. Louis poet Sara Teasdale. In 1929 Teasdale divorced Filsinger, ending their 16 year marriage.
The Ernst Filsinger Collection contains two portraits of Sara Teasdale and 14 portraits and news service photographs of Ernst Filsinger. The Filsinger portion of the collection includes photographs of Filsinger in South Africa, Egypt and Germany, one photograph of a German city after the First World War, and two postcard views of the construction of the Panama canal.
