Weak influence of anthropogenic emissions on aerosol, cloud and rain in the wet season of the Amazon rainforest
收藏资源简介:
This dataset is used in the study of Wang et al. (2025) on Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-132). The data have been generated by UM-UKCA-CASIM from the nested regional model simulations. It contains 3 hourly data from 12 to 10 April, 2014, excluding the spinup day (11 March, 2014), and all the fields also exclude the regional model boundary data and the data that are not relevant to this study (upwind of Manaus). The file names are composed of variable name+simulation name+'.nc' or are grouped by each figure. Each netCDF file includes the geographic coordinates, which are longitude, latitude, vertical altitude level. The NetCDF files are organized by variable into separate groups and are stored in compressed format. The dimensions in each fields are: lat: latitude lon: longitude lev: altitude hours_since_0UTC_12th: the time dimension is the number of 3-hour intervals since 0 UTC on 12 March 2014. ********************************************** The "obs_vs_model_fig1_A1_A2_A4_A5.zip" contains the interpolated according to the flight track during GoAmazon2014/5 and processed data to plot figue 1, A1, A2, A4 and A5. The number concentrations in interpolated_dataset_*.csv are in 'cm-3' (e.g. model_N3), while in particle_size_interpolated_dataset_*.csv are in 'm-3' (e.g. nuc_conc) and radius are in 'm'. Nucleation rates (jrate) are in 'cm-3 s-1'. The maps of column integrated sulfur content are plotted with the following files (Fig. 3): SO2_CTL.nc and H2SO4_CTL.nc. The gases are in 'kg kg-1'. The profiles of nucleation, Aitken and accumulation mode aerosols are plotted using the *.txt files in particle_profiles_fig4.zip (Fig. 4). The data has been filtered to only keep the high-sulfur regions and is averaged temporally and spatially (horizontal). The concentrations are in 'cm-3'. The relationship between sulfur content and particle number concentrations are plotted using the files in correlation_sulfur_particles_fig5.zip, SO2_CTL.nc (in SO2.zip) and H2SO4_CTL.nc (in H2SO4.zip) (Fig. 5): The particle concentrations are in 'cm-3' and gases are in 'kg kg-1'. The relationship between sulfur content and H2SO4-Org nucleation rate, biogenic nucleation rate, H2SO4 concentration and condensation sink are plotted using the files in correlation_sulfur_rates_h2so4_fig6.zip and H2SO4_CTL/offREG/0.5xemis/1.5xemis/2xemis/5xemis.nc, and SO2_CTL.nc (Fig. 6).
