资源简介:
Data on the nature and composition of the depositional beach ridges which make up Priapulus Point at Cape Bird was collected to determine if the development pattern of the ridges reflects changing climate and deglaciation in the outer part of McMurdo Sound over the last few thousand years. Ground surveys were conducted on the whole Cape area. 11 profiles were surveyed over Priapulus Point, the longest being more than 1.5 km. In addition, the 6 talus fans backing the point together with three others behind Caughley Beach were surveyed so that their volumes could be determined. Aerial photographs were taken to get full stereo coverage from 6000'.
