Immunological classifiers that predict patient outcome and therapeutic responses have been constructed through targeted immune gene expression profiling of diagnostic bone marrow samples from patients with acute myeloid leukaemia. Overall design: In the study presented here, well annotated cohorts of adults with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia were used to acquire immune gene expression data. An immune effector senescence-related gene set was shown to correlate with stemness and with poor response to induction chemotherapy.
