Cabergoline (CAB) and bromocriptine (BRC) as first-line drug are recommended for treating patients with prolactinoma. Nonetheless, patients present with the differences of effective to CAB and BRC. The sensitivities of patients to the two drugs were different. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression underlying in treatment of CAB and BRC, and identified distinct classes of up-regulated genes during this process. Overall design: Rat pituitary adenoma cells were treated with CAB and BRC for RNA extraction and high throughput sequencing on Affymetrix GeneChip® Rat Genome 230 2.0 Array . The differential gene expression between the groups was analyzed. The groups as following:1. MMQ 2.MB (MMQ+BRC) 3.GH3 4.GC(GH3+CAB) 5.GB(GH3+BRC) 6.GCB(GH3+BRC+CAB) 7.MC(MMQ+CAB) 8.MCB(MMQ+CAB+BRC)
